Monday Evening - Men's
Welcome to the 2022-23 Monday Night Men’s League.
Hello to all Monday Night Curlers.
The Monday night men’s league is a fun night for those who would like to
sign up and play in a league where teams are formed via a draft.
Please indicate what position you prefer to play. Last year there
were more requests for skips than we had teams.
This year's format will remain the same as in the past. If we one draw, games will start at 7:30 p.m.
To encourage curlers new to the sport, should you know of someone who
would play if they can join your team, we will be open to that for the first half of the season.

Tuesday / Thursday - Open Daytime League
Tuesday & Thursday afternoons 2022-23
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons used to be just for seniors, but we live in a “new-normal” where these leagues are open to everyone! Stick curlers are always welcome!
This league is an ideal activity for those who do not like to drive at night or perhaps those who do shiftwork.
We use a jitney format, so there are no set teams and no requirement to play every week. Please arrive no later than 11:45 am so we can make up the teams and be on the ice by noon. Pre‑game practice is encouraged for those ready to go early.
We are hoping to return to our annual tradition of a year-end bonspiel. This will be our 25th year. More details to follow. If fellowship and daytime curling are what you crave, please join us!

We hope you have had a wonderful summer! We are looking forward to seeing old friends, and welcoming new ones, on Tuesday nights when the league commences in October.
Tuesday Night CYO is the perfect mixture of fun and competition! Regardless of your curling experience, Tuesday night is a great time to sharpen your skills and share in some competitive fun with a group of great people. Teams can be mixed and composed of adults of any/all genders, and juniors (12+).
We look forward to the return of previous Tuesday night teams and we welcome new members and teams. If you do not have a team but wish to join the league, please contact us ASAP and we will do our best to work with you to form a team.
If you have any suggestions for improvements to the Tuesday night league, your input is always welcome. We look forward to seeing you all for the 2022/2023 Tuesday night curling season!

Thursday Evening - Choose Your Own Team
Thursday Evening CYO 2022-23
We had a fun curling season last year. Thanks to all of you who made it so! Because of only having 12 teams in 2 flights, one complaint was that opponents were not varied enough.
We hope to have more teams join the league but either way, we will start this season with a full round robin, which will automatically create the variety sought. Later in the season, we will break teams into flights. To accommodate teams/players who intend to be snowbirds, we will allow new teams/players to replace traveling teams/players post-Christmas break. I believe this will make our league more inclusive and will attract half season participants.
This league is designed for already established teams. Let me know if you have a team interested in having fun, fellowship, and a bit of exciting competition. Please make me aware of possible post-Christmas changes so I can plan accordingly.
Should you wish to curl in our CYO league and do not have a team, please contact me and I will endeavor to find a team for you if possible.
Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday nights!

Friday Doubles (Morning-Jitney Style)
Friday Morning Doubles 2022-23 (Start 10 am)
Doubles is a slightly different variation of a regular curling game, in that it allows both players to take a very active role in strategy determination and there are usually more draw shots than take-outs. The mixed doubles format is an Olympic sport but very popular with most curling clubs using the open gender format, with sweeping optional.
Two people, of the same or mixed gender, form a team. Throwing a total of 5 rocks per end for 8 ends, the games usually last about 90 minutes. You will have the option of selecting your own partner to curl with each week or you can use our jitney method, whereby we match you up with someone different each week.
There is no requirement to play every week. Just show up and we provide instruction on rules and strategy. Stick curlers are always welcome.
All age groups are thrilled with this format and we had many “regulars” who enjoyed playing last year. It was also part of the Continental Cup Spiel that we held last Winter. I can’t recall anyone who tried it that didn’t like it, so come out and see why! Please contact me with questions.

Friday Night - Mixed League
Friday Night Mixed 2022-23
Hello curlers, welcome to the 2022-23 Friday Night Mixed league - a fun, non-competitive, social night of curling. Friday Nights are ideal for new curlers, so if you know anyone who wants to curl, convince them to give it a try. We’re all there to have a good time and help new curlers learn the game.
Last season we had several new curlers join the league. This year we are looking forward to the return of last year’s members, more new curlers joining as well as the return of some past members that previously curled on Friday nights.
We will once again have the weekly 50/50 draw, theme nights, mid-season and year-end social evenings.
If you’re looking for a relaxed, fun night of curling come out on Friday nights.
If you have any inquiries about the league, contact us by email below, or come out to the registration and Wine & Cheese evening (7 to 9 pm) on Friday September 16th. We will be there to answer any questions you may have.
We look forward to seeing everyone when the league starts up in October.

Sunday Afternoon - Juniors League
Sunday Juniors 2022-23
We are so excited to announce the return of our full Junior Programming on Sundays. This year we have two programs to offer: Little Rockers, for kids ages 6 – 11; and Recreational Juniors, for ages 12 – 18. Both programs follow the Curling Canada curriculum and are led by certified Club Coach Youth instructors.
Kids love to keep moving! Our program is designed to keep kids active and engaged by moving them through a variety of stations as they develop the desired skills through fun games, drills, and activities. Each session will consist of on-ice and off-ice warmups, safety reviews and instruction, culminating with short games where participants can demonstrate their learning. Our Little Rockers will use our lighter-weight rocks and modified houses while the Recreational Juniors will play with the standard rocks and full-length sheets.
To keep things interesting, we have some special days planned throughout the year. “Theme Days” will coincide with special holidays. We will be hosting two Bring-A-Friend Bonspiel Days where curlers can invite their friends to join in the fun. For kids interested in a bit of competition, there are many opportunities to play in friendly bonspiels at other clubs in our area and beyond. Although there are additional costs to these bonspiels, they are not mandatory. In keeping with tradition, we will close out our curling season with our Family Bonspiel, where the kids will become the coaches and teach their families how to curl!
Getting kids started in curling is easy and inexpensive! The curling club supplies all the equipment required. All your kids need are clean indoor running shoes and a helmet (if under 12 years old). Although helmets are not required for participants over age 12, they are still highly recommended.
We are looking forward to seeing all the Little Rockers and Juniors for some fun Sunday Curling!
If parents are looking to get involved with coaching, the club is hosting a Club Coach Youth training session on September 25. Please let us know if you might be interested.
